Above is Paramount p1202-1346, a Carole Lombard portrait from 1936 taken by the studio’s John Engstead. It’s one of three vintage 8″ x 10″ Lombard photos, all originally from New York’s fabled Movie Star News store, now up for auction from the same seller. When this auction began a day or so back, the opening bid was but 99 cents; as of this writing, five bids have been made, currently topping at $18.27.

Since the auction won’t close until 10:42 p.m. (Eastern) next Tuesday, this could well hit triple digits. Learn more by visiting

The two other Lombard photos are from Columbia Pictures. This one looks to be from 1933’s “Brief Moment”:

Three bids have been made to now, topping at $16.01, and the deadline for this auction is one minute later than that of the one above. Interested? Then go to

Finally, this image from “Twentieth Century”:

At the present, this has two bids, the higher for $5.24. Its auction ends at 10:44 p.m. (Eastern) a week from Tuesday.
