Current mood: busy

Or in other words, the protagonist, the director and the producer (Carole Lombard, John Cromwell and David O. Selznick, respectively). All are shown on the set of her 1939 film “Made For Each Other.” And lest you think my subject line strictly is affectation, that’s how it was printed on the back of this vintage photo, for it was in Spanish:
Whichever country this was designed for, it’s apparent that United Artists was handling the film’s publicity, since home studio Selznick-International and ace publicist Russell Birdwell took care of such chores in the U.S. In July 1938, before production on “Made For Each Other” began, Lombard herself handled the studio’s publicity for a week (http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/17287.html; http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/420933.html and http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/489210.html).
Bidding on this 8″ x 10″ in good condition opens at $14.95; the auction closes at 9:20 p.m. (Eastern) Monday.
