The photo, we mean, not Carole Lombard, probably still a teenager when this image was taken for Mack Sennett. It’s now available, although the seller isn’t certain it’s a vintage pic. We do know it dates back to at least the 1950s, because there are markings from the Minneapolis Sunday Tribune with a date of March 13, 1955:

We also know Jane Peters had adopted the Carole Lombard name a few years before winding up at Sennett, and aside from the occasional “Carolle” early in her tenure there, Mack had nothing to do with her moniker.

This luscious 7″ x 9″ photo of the young Lombard is “cheap” because while three bids have been made as of this writing, the top bid is a mere $2.25. But there’s still time for it to rise, since bidding isn’t slated to close until 8:10 p.m. (Eastern) Sunday. Want to get in on the action? Go to

The seller has two more pics of Carole up for auction. Take a look at this vintage photo:

On the back, there’s a reference to “Love Before Breakfast” plus a vaudeville show at a Palace Theatre, as well as a stamp indicating the photo was reused in 1975:

The image measures 6.5″ x 8.5″, and as you can tell, there’s a bit of wear on the top, but it’s nonetheless stunning. Bidding on this is scheduled to end two minutes earlier than the previous pic, and as of this writing, one bid has been made — for 99 cents. Think you might want this for your collection? Then visit

Finally, a more poignant photo, of Lombard at the Indianapolis war bond rally on Jan. 15, 1942:

As you might guess, this photo ran posthumously:

It’s 6″ x 8″, and currently two bids have been made, topping at 99 cents; bids will end at 8:09 p.m. (Eastern) Sunday. To get involved in the bidding or get more information, check out
