Not long ago, we ran an entry that included a cover story from the May 1935 issue of Movie Classic on how Carole Lombard became Hollywood’s best-dressed star. Either that article drew a strong response from readers or the editors were major Lombard fans, because Carole was the subject of two more pieces before the calendar year was complete.

First, from the September issue, a sort of sequel to the best-dressed story, called “How Carole Lombard’s Clothes Match Her Moods.” In it, designer Travis Banton comments that there are so many facets to Carole’s personality that she’s essentially “twelve persons in one.” Read how Lombard outfits her twelve selves:

Three months later, Sonia Lee — who wrote several articles on Lombard over the years — added another, “Portrait of a Self-Made Woman”:
