How would you like to own an artifact of the residence of Carole Lombard and Clark Gable? If you have a few thousand dollars to splurge and can hurry, you may do just that.

A reversed painted lamp from the Gables’ Encino home is being auctioned at eBay. Here’s what it looks like:

According to the seller, “The lamp is a very heavy glass with an outdoors scene. It is not working because the original cord is in need of repair,” though it is in good condition. “The lamp has been stored out of sunlight and in climate control since it was purchased in 2001.”

There is also a letter of appraisal:

I’ve never seen the lamp in any interior photos of the Gable-Lombard house, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t authentic.

It should come as no surprise that this will cost any collector. Bidding begins at $1,750 (no bids have been made as of this writing), with bids ending at 7:43 p.m. (Eastern) Sunday. Interested?
