We’ve been showing plenty of Carole Lombard items from the huge Glassner collection in recent weeks, and most of them have been reprints, usually processed in the 1970s or ’80s from the original negatives. Today’s entry is substantially different, as all are originals whose bidding price begins at $75 (such as the striking 1933 Paramount portrait above, http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAROLE-LOMBARD-original-movie-GLAMOUR-photo-1930s-/370682887763?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564e6bfe53), with bids ending between 8:59 and 9:11 p.m. (Eastern) Sunday. As of this writing, none of them have been bid on.
Slightly more than two years ago, we showed a picture of Carole where her face isn’t seen (http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/341450.html). Add another to the list, as Lombard literally turns her back on us:

Some two years later, in “Twentieth Century,” Carole’s character Lily Garland would proclaim, “I’m no Trilby!” Here, though, Lombard definitely was.
