By the late 1930s, Carole Lombard had come to enjoy rural living…or at least Hollywood’s equivalent of it. This was proven in a British publication from 1939 called Film Pictorial Annual, which compiled a two-page spread of Lombard the “farmerette” in an entry called “Down On The Farm With Carole Lombard”:
