This measures 8″ x 10″, with the “p1202-351″ written in black ink (remember, this is a negative), deemed in excellent plus condition. Not bad for something close to 80 years old.
Bids begin at $299 (none have been made as of this writing), and bidding ends at 10:10 p.m. (Eastern) next Thursday. To bid or learn more, visit http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAROLE-LOMBARD-ORIGINAL-8-x-10-STUDIO-NEGATIVE-/380540092878?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5899f501ce.
The other image is a photo sent from NBC publicity in January 1939 to promote Lombard’s role as one of the cast in the network’s new series, “The Circle.” We’ve seen this image of Carole before, but never the snipe on the back:
No. Lombard didn’t sit on a stool to perform on the radio, but after turning 30 a few months earlier, it was good to remind people she still had what it takes for leg art. (The pose was ultimately more successful than the series, which she left after a few episodes.)
Bids on this start at $9.99, and bidding closes at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
